Renewable Energy Assurance Limited (REAL) has published its fifth annual report for the Compost Certification Scheme, providing an overview of the scheme and summary of scheme developments in 2020.
In summary, there were 176 composting processes certified under the CCS by the end of 2020, with a total registered annual input of approximately 3.8 million tonnes. Of the 176 certified processes, 137 were located in England, 20 in Scotland, 13 in Wales and six in Northern Ireland.
