The Compost Producers Forum consists of representatives of compost producers who are either certified or working towards certification under the Scheme. The Forum provides producers with the opportunity to raise and discuss issues they may be experiencing in relation to certification under the scheme and where appropriate other issues that may impact on the scheme as a whole.

Words about the Forum from a Scottish operator, Gregor Keenan:
“The third Producers Forum meeting will be held in Scotland. It is a great opportunity to discuss the Compost Certification (PAS100), raise issues and ultimately shape the way our products are certified. Producers from throughout the UK may attend but I would urge Scottish Composters in particular to take this opportunity to meet and discuss certification issues that ultimately affect the health of the industry. The forum is a means to gather the industry views which can then be relayed to the EA, SEPA the CCS Technical Advisory Committee etc. Feedback from producers is vital if the scheme is to keep pace with the development of the industry. As the producer’s representative on the Technical Advisory Committee, I can take forward your views, pressing for change where it is appropriate and providing justification to keep the aspects that work well. With the bulk of PAS100 producers based in England there is likely to be few meetings in Scotland so please take this opportunity to contribute. Since PAS100 currently provides end of waste status in Scotland it is vital that the Certification Scheme remains relevant to the industry and the end markets. If you want your opinion to count, this is an ideal opportunity to make your voice heard.”
